Trying Something Different
I started this blog just as a place to put all the random stuff going on in my life.
I'm studying Industrial Design at the University of Cincinnati (DAAP). A good portion of my time and effort is spent in that one building.
I love the outdoors, but spend most of my time inside.

Yes I am slightly behind on this one. However two weeks ago I had the pleasure of being in a tropical storm. I love storms, I find them fascinating. I woke up Thursday morning and got a message from my boss that work had been cancelled due to the weather so I went back to sleep. My dad then called me, woke me up, and told me I (VB) was on the news at the gym. Asleep, I had little recollection of what was happening outside. When I finally decided to get up I had to go to Walgreens. As fun as driving in a tropical storm is (a lot of fun), I realized it wasn’t exactly the safest thing when someone cut me off and simultaneously sped through standing water on the street causing me to go blind for about 5 seconds at 40mph. Slightly terrifying, and yes I slowed to almost a complete stop because I was indeed blinded. When I returned back home I drove through the puddle you see in this first picture. Cool, it was flooding. Later that night I realized that this water was still rising, as it was still storming. I figured I best get out before I drowned. I decided I should wade out into the water to check its depth before I just drove through it, well you can see how high it was in the second picture. I drove through it anyway, I didn’t have a choice and had to vacate the apartment to a hotel inland. Work got cancelled again and I drove to Philly for the weekend…fun times on co-op.

Alrighty, I think I might have posted this once before but here we are again with more Courier news.
Courier is the digital journal by Microsoft that I want to buy right now. Basically everything a designer could ever want in a journal, a digital journal.

So I guess Gizmodo pointed this little gem out to me. I’m not a big reader, nor do I really like to follow/listen to the news. It isn’t the best thing, but what I can do is look at epic pictures of said news.
And the picture above is from a show in Berlin. Feel free to click the link and read more (or I guess I should say observe more), and I hear theres video on youtube as well. The video game geek in me only seems Bioshock in large scale (a big daddy and his little girl).

Took my shot at something a little more fancy this year for my pumpkin carving…I had a stencil, but it didn’t work out so I just hand to free hand wing it.
